Prescription Filling
CIPS users have several options for filling prescription orders. Electronic orders from the EHR can be pulled and viewed from Script Queues. CIPS provides a view of the order that was sent by the provider and populates order information on the filling screen. The technician or pharmacist can edit the information if necessary to fill the order. Any changes between the original order and the filled prescription are logged
Flexible Workflow Options
The pharmacy can design the workflow to meet their needs from simple pharmacist filling to more complex workflows that include multiple reviews, verification steps, and scanning steps.
EPCS Certification
CIPS is certified to receive electronically signed controlled substance orders from CIPS Remote and Surescripts.
Formulary Center & Non-Formulary Approval
The Formulary Center is a powerful tool that allows CIPS users to make mass updates to drug settings without touching individual drug records. Formularies for one site can be copied to another site and quickly edited for easy updates. Drugs marked as non-formulary can trigger approval requirements by date, individual prescription, or GPI (Generic Product Identifier) before the order can move forward in the pharmacy’s workflow.
Inventory Management
CIPS provides you with several options to manage inventory, including Current Acquisition Cost and FIFO (First-In, First-Out at the per-pill level during dispensing. Drug transactions can also be entered manually and returns made to inventory with reason tracking. CIPS can import drug catalogs from leading wholesale companies.

Integration with Medi-Span DUR databases for screening Drug-Drug Interactions, Duplicate Therapy, etc. Capable of receiving electronic orders, electronic cancellations, (EPCS certified and compliant with DEA and CMS regulations), and sending electronic refill requests or change requests.
Custom Pharmacy Settings, User Accounts, Workflow, and Security Options
Ability to have unique login credentials, home screen settings, etc. per user account along with custom workflow filters and tasks can be set up per pharmacy.
